Yoga and food, again

While my mind is stiil racing with all kinds of different thoughts, I can’t seem to get anything decent on paper. I’m blocked somehow, which usually doesn’t happen to me. Am tired, but lying in bed trying to catch some sleep is not my favorite time of the day right now. I feel sad, and really really angry at the same time. Too bad I gave up kickboxing last year.

On a positive note, I am enjoying my yoga again. Short sessions, 20, 30 minutes, and only led by Shiva for now. As I mentioned before, her flows are almost dreamy, trance like and her backbend sessions are amazing. I even managed to do One Leg Wheel tonight, and it felt really good. Will try and write some reviews of her DVD’s tomorrow.

So leaving you with the rendang recipe I tried Saturday, cause it really was good! I used the following, for about 2 pounds of beef: 2 onions, 3 garlic cloves, cumin, coriander, clove, 4 rawits, lemon juice, brown sugar, lemongrass and coconut milk. Cook the coconut milk on low heat, and throw in the spices after 10 minutes. Make a paste of onion, garlic, lemongrass and rawit and throw that in too. Mix in some lemon juice and sugar, and let simmer for a little while.

In the meantime cook the beef, until it is just a little brown. Add to coconut milk and let simmer for a long, long time, at least 3 hours. But rendang is even better the next day. Oh, 4 rawits might be enough for you, however it wasn’t for me, so I added some more 🙂 Eat with pandan rice, green beans and of course emping!
